Graham Todd and Sue Mather, Travel Research International’s directors, have become recognized as key figures in the strategic analysis of the international branded hotel sector and their published studies have become industry benchmarks. The company has worked at an international, regional and national level and has advised major global groups, individual companies and industry associations.

Recent consulting assignments include:

PricewaterhouseCoopers – A study of the timeshare market in Europe, assessing the sector and its new derivatives from the perspective of the investor and developer. The research included an analysis of performance, a survey among industry associations and operators and an assessment of industry prospects.

The research included an analysis of what attracts investors into this volatile segment of the market, a survey of opinion among key operators and analysts, and an assessment of the changing nature of the increasing demand for top end hotels.

PricewaterhouseCoopers – The preparation of two core contributions to New Europe and the Hotel Industry, a detailed analysis presented at the conference of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants held in Budapest in 2000 and also at the International Hotel Investment Conference in Berlin in 2001. These studies covered the structure of the hotel industry in Europe and the European traveller, including an analysis of recent trends and a series of predictions as to the likely future direction of the industry and of travel patterns in Europe.

Customised services to the hotel industry – The company has provided a confidential monitoring service for a number of hotel industry players and suppliers, covering the strategic direction and development of the global hotel sector, and the implications of expansion and development policies of the industry's major players.
