Travel Research International, with its wide experience of different tourism markets and market segments in Europe, Asia and the Pacific, North America and the Caribbean and the Middle East, is in a unique position to advise tourism organisations and companies on best practice in a wide variety of fields. Our benchmarking work has included such areas as destination performance, tourism supply, marketing, development and regulation, providing a yardstick against which all aspects of performance can be judged.

Recent consulting assignments include:

Northern Ireland Tourist Board – An analysis of best practice in tourism marketing and management in the six US states of New England, as part of a detailed review of tourism development and marketing in Northern Ireland. Travel Research International also worked with DTZ Pieda to lead a three-day symposium to draw up a blueprint for the effective development and marketing of Northern Ireland.

Scottish Tourist Board – A comparative study of tourism policy, incentives, management and the organisational and financial aspects of tourism promotion in Costa Rica. This research was part of a wider exercise aimed at formulating policy advice to the Scottish Tourist Board, based on international best practice.

Government of Barbados – A series of international comparative studies in four different countries (Jamaica, Bahamas, Ireland and Mauritius) examining best practice in the legal, regulatory and fiscal environment governing the tourism sector. The study was carried out in association with a leading Barbadian management consultancy and ARA/KPMG.
